While the temps are supposed to be warmer this weekend, it’s also supposed to rain. If you’ve got cabin fever and are itching to get out of the house, how about a checking out an ice hockey game between the Binghamton firefighters and Broome Volunteer Firefighters?

The idea for Binghamton firefighters to take on Broome Volunteer Firefighters came together one day after a pond hockey game. Jesse Murphy, 5 Mile Point Fire Department Lieutenant explains: “We are playing the game mostly for fun because we all love hockey as well as the exercise and camaraderie it provides us....a lot of the guys put a lot of time and effort to make this game happen and we hope to move forward with making it an annual charity game after this year.

The Chenango Ice Rink has rented the firefighters a slot for an hour, with puck drop at 3:45pm on Sunday March 30th.

If you’re interested in cheering on the teams, admission is free and you'll be able to watch from The Faceoff Bar and Grill. Doors open at 3pm.
