It's Administrative Professionals Week! It's celebrated during the last full week in April (Sunday through Saturday). Today is Administrative Professionals Day.

This celebration began as 'National Secretaries Week' in 1952. Do you remember when you could say 'Happy Secretary's Day' and it wasn't offensive?

We have an awesome Administrative Professional named Heather. When I make a mistake she can fix it with a smile...and 20 bucks from me.

She makes us look great but not everyone else is so lucky. Here's how you know:

5) You're constantly calling in the firefighters to free her/him from the candy machine. I love free candy but that's not what this means.

4) You can't remember the last time you got a letter or phone call at work. Yes, Heather still has to answer the phone and transfer the call. If I didn't return your call, it's probably because I don't check my work phone much.

3) You have to scrape White-Out off the computer monitor. Some are asking, what's White-Out?

2) She/He has a hard time alphabetizing a bag of M&M's and can't get the hang of Post-it Notes.

1) When she/he gets low on typing paper, you ask her/him to use copy paper. They take a blank piece of typing paper and put it into the copy machine and makes 10 copies. We actually had a intern that did that.

So do something special for your Sec-- I mean Administrative Professional this week. Remember that person who makes you look good everyday, so flowers are always nice. At least I hope Heather thinks so!
