My brother Jeff is a beast. Jeff works out religiously and competes in weightlifting competitions, winning virtually all he enters. I could pretend to know what Jeff is talking about when he tells me about his stats and how much he deadlifts, but I don't have a clue. I just know he's strong and I'm proud of him.

Here's a photo of Jeff on the day he dead-lifted 601 pounds and at one of his body building competitions:

Amazing, right? I'm so proud of Jeff!

Another person amazing her family is a 78-year-old woman in Illinois who is a weightlifting fiend.

Up until a few years ago, Shirley Webb wasn't exactly what you'd call the exercising type. Pretty much the extent of her workout was moving her lawn. But all of that changed when Webb joined a gym and became passionate about weightlifting.

Webb worked so hard and with so much determination that at the age of 78, she's able to dead-lift 225 pounds three times. That means she lifts a barbell stacked with weights from the ground to above her knees.

What's more is that Webb set the dead-lifting record for her age group in Illinois at 237 pounds and she also holds the record in Missouri at 215 pounds. Impressive!

Webb says when she first started, she couldn't get up off the floor unless she had help and couldn't climb the stairs unless she was holding on to the railing.
