High school sports were cut short earlier this year as coronavirus ramped up. That's quite a tough way for student-athletes to have to finish their season, especially because most of the winter sports were in the state tournament stage when the cancellations occurred.

However, this should ease the sadness, even if only slightly.

As reported by Pressconnects, Broome County on Tuesday honored the teams that were still in state championship contention at the time of cancellation as "joint champions".
