2012: The Summer of Construction in Downtown Binghamton

Wow!  The streets of downtown Binghamton are bright white and looking good but the construction continues in downtown.  I'm hoping all the inconveniences of road detours and loud drilling, will be worth it come October, when the construction is expected to be completed. 

The small one-lane round-about is the project everyone I spoke with is curious about.  The project was actually started by our former mayor, Richard Bucci.  The Federal money was approved and earmarked not only for the round-about but for other improvements on Court Street and in downtown Binghamton.  Keep listening to the Hawk for the latest info on the opening of the round-about.  Until then, feel free to click on the virtual tour.  Don't forget your seat belts!
