Authorities say one person has been charged following the discovery of potentially-deadly fentanyl at the Broome County Jail.

Investigators say 36-year-old Jennifer Lynn Warner of Port Crane, was arrested. They say the inmate was found to be in possession of fentanyl on September 8.

According to a sheriff's office news release issued Wednesday, Warner was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband. The charge is a felony.

Officials provided no information about how the fentanyl got into the jail or whether anyone else may be charged in the case.
