The winter weather is here. We will have a wintry mix of rain, snow, sleet and freezing rain from Sunday morning (12/12) into Monday afternoon (12/13). This could mean cancellations for school. Many kids are happy but parents aren't. Well here's a school that everyone can look forward too.

It's Winter Zoo School at the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park. Presidents' Day will be here before you know it and Presidents' Day weekend has many opportunities to have fun and learn at the same time.

Here's what happening over that weekend:

February 17th (4-7 year olds): Animal Tracks and Signs
You can learn about animal tracking and how to spot signs of local wildlife throughout the year.

February 18th (4-7 year olds): Here or There?
The youngsters can meet some of the animals native to our area, learn how they survive in our climate, and compare them to other animals from around the world.

February 19th (8-10 year olds): Native Americans and Wildlife
Learn how Native Americans live with and interact with local wildlife through stories and games.

February 20, 2017 (8-10 year olds): Taking Care of Our Neighbors
Students will learn about how we can take care of local wildlife–from bird feeders to changing our behavior to preserve habitats.

Zoo School Half Day is from 9:00am–12:00 pm and 1:00pm–4:00 pm. Before/After Care runs from 8:30am–9:00am and 4:00pm–4:30 pm.

It's only a couple of weeks away so don't miss out. To find out more about the Zoo School, go here. Binghamton Zoo is located at 60 Morgan Road in Binghamton.
