Well, surprise, surprise. It's another 6 weeks of winter. Punxsuntawney Phil saw his shadow.

Today is one of my favorite holidays and not because 'Groundhog Day' is one of my favorite movies. Maybe it's because I like to repeat myself. Anyway, this is why we should celebrate.

5) Unlike the Easter bunny, He stays outside.

4) As they used to say on the radio...only the Shadow knows.

3) If a rodent can bring us a early spring, who am I to argue.

2) Phil's forecast is just as reliable as most other weather forecasters.

1) It's a holiday that's over at 7:30am. If you go to Gobbler's Knob, you'll enjoy music and fire barrels. Phil tells the Inner Circle if spring is coming and that's it.

It's 7:30 and time to get off the hill.

You should go to Gobbler's Knob for Groundhog's Day.  Stay at a bed and breakfast or just go for the day, or would it be overnight? You still have plenty of time to get home.

Going to the Knob is like this - Get off exit 66 in Apalachin, drive to Warren Center, Pennsylvania and then go to Farmer Rick's place. Go to one of his fields and look for a woodchuck.

One of these years, I'll convince an intern to wear my Tigger outfit and send them to a field to have them look for their shadow. Not this year though. It would have been a little tough with all the snow we had in the Southern Tier.
