A superintendent change has been announced for another school district in Broome County.

The Whitney Point Central School District Board of Education has chosen Jo-Ann Sexton to succeed superintendent Patricia Follette. The board approved her appointment on Tuesday.

Sexton is scheduled to become superintendent on July 1. She has been working for the school district since 1989.

Sexton was a school counselor for 17 years, assistant principal for two years and director of special services for three years. She has served as the district's assistant superintendent for the last several years.

Follette been Whitney Point school superintendent for nine years.
