Today (January 24th) is National Beer Can Appreciation Day. It's always nice to have this holiday fall on a Friday. That way you can celebrate responsibly and if for some reason you don't...No work tomorrow.

The reason that it falls on January 24th every year is that it was first sold in cans on this day in 1935. Canned beer makes sense because it's easier to pack in a box or cooler.

If I were a scientist (and I'm not), I would mention that advanced thermodynamics and quantum physics tell us that beer cans are easier to pick up too. WOW, have I just taken the fun out of this day or what?

There are many ways to celebrate today and you can find some of them here. However, if you ask me, the ultimate way to celebrate is to get your tickets to the 6th annual Binghamton On Tap event.

It's at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Binghamton on Saturday, February 8th from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. We'll have over 100 craft beers from over 50 breweries with two tasting sessions including a VIP session.

You'll get a souvenir sampling glass and enjoy live music, vendors, and food available for purchase. This will sell out so don't miss out. Binghamton On Tap is sponsored by Delta Engineering, Stanley Law and Beer Tree Brew.

Happy 85th birthday to canned beer. Take a minute, sing happy birthday, have a cold one responsibly and get your tickets below.
