Scammers are pulling out all the stops to try and get you to give up personal information and send money. The latest scam involves voice cloning. According to News 10 ABC and the Better Business Bureau, there is a new scam that involves voicemails that sound like loved ones. There is a new software that scammers are using that the Better Business Bureau makes you believe that someone in your family is in trouble and needs your help. They make it sound just like them.

The voice-cloning software technology imitates voices from audio samples. Then the scammers create voicemail messages that try to convince you to send money to your loved one.

The Better Business Bureau warns that they are trying to hit businesses first but then move onto cell phone users. They also say that during this election season, the scammers may try and mimic candidates to convince you to donate to their campaign.

If you have been the victim of a scam, the Better Business Bureau wants you to report it so they can prevent others from being scammed. You can report it by clicking here.
