Vestal Walmart Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19
Broome County officials have issued a self-quarantine advisory for some people who shopped at the Vestal Walmart store.
The county executive's office Saturday evening announced that the health department has learned that a worker at the Vestal Parkway store has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to a news release, people who were in the store's grocery department on Easter Sunday - April 12 - from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. should self-quarantine if they develop coronavirus symptoms. The symptoms include cough, fever and shortness of breath. Those with symptoms should contact a healthcare provider.
The 14-day incubation period will end on April 26. According to the information released by the county, the employee did not work while symptomatic.
The county health department received the positive test result Saturday.
