Fire investigators in Tioga County are looking into the cause of a large fire at a vacant building in Waverly overnight April 15 that kept firefighters from both Tioga County, New York and Bradford County, Pennsylvania at the scene for hours.

Tioga County Emergency Services officials early April 16 could not confirm reports of a possible injury to a firefighter working at the scene of the warehouse fire in Waverly.

Tioga County Emergency Services officials said they had no word on what company the firefighter who supposedly sustained a non-life threatening injury was stationed with as crews from both New York and Pennsylvania jurisdictions battled the 8 p.m. blaze at the vacant building on the Broad Street Extension next to Midwestern Pet Foods.

Firefighters from Waverly, Sayre and Athens reportedly left the scene at around 11 p.m.  Emergency services personnel from Tioga County, New York and Bradford County, Pennsylvania, including ambulance squads, worked at the scene.
