According to a report by Diane Rutherford of WWNY, 35-year-old Sean Briggs of Watertown, New York was driving during the blizzard over the weekend and his vehicle got stuck in a snowbank near General Brown High School. Briggs allegedly used a crowbar to break into the school, where he spent two days including Christmas Day.

During that time Briggs allegedly stole food from the concession stand, cooked in the home economics room, and spent some time re-living high school glory days by playing basketball in the school's gym.

On the second day when he went out to check on his car, Briggs discovered that it was missing. When he called law enforcement officials to report a missing car, they told him that the car had been towed from the school. And instead of telling law enforcement officials that he had gotten stuck in the snow and was taking shelter in the school, Briggs decided to spend another day in the school.

According to the report, he then allegedly stole a pickup truck with a snowplow from the school and tried to break into a store in Watertown's Pioneer Plaza, which set off the store's alarm.

Law enforcement officers found Briggs trying to steal $8,500 worth of items from the store, including a rifle and hunting, trapping, camping and fishing gear.

Briggs was arrested and now faces charges of two counts of third-degree burglary, one count of third-degree burglary, one count of third-degree attempted burglary, three counts of third-degree criminal mischief, and one count of possession of burglar's tools.
