How well do you think it would go over if someone told Binghamton Senators players that they had to shave their playoff beards? I'm guessing not well.

NBC has the rights to broadcast the NHL Stanley Cup Finals and while the ratings have been good, NBC Sports Chairman Mark Lazarus thinks things would be even better if the NHL players would shave their “playoff beards.”

That's right. The sacred playoff beards.

Lazarus says he understands the tradition and superstition behind players not shaving until the champion is crowned, but that's not stopping him from asking them to shave.

Lazarus says people like to see faces, and he thinks more people would enjoy watching hockey if they could see what the players actually looked like.

Lazarus has taken his suggestion public and has even dangled some money in front of the players, explaining that they’d have a better chance of scoring more endorsements if they were clean shaven.

What do you think? Should the beards stay or go?
