A Tioga County man has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography while he was on supervised release following an earlier conviction.

Authorities said 63-year-old Timothy Duel entered the plea on Tuesday.

Under the plea, Deuel acknowledged he had been sentenced to 87 months in prison in March 2015 as a result of a conviction for distribution of child pornography. He also had been sentence to ten years supervised release.

Deuel admitted during that time of supervised release, he possessed storage devices which contained about 1,000 images and 200 video files of child pornography.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of New York, Deuel is scheduled to be sentenced on November 29. A news release indicated he faces a mandatory minimum term of ten years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. He could be sentenced to as much of 20 years in prison.

The case was investigated by the FBI and the New York State Police.
