A Spencer woman is accused of having a pound of methamphetamine in her possession when she was stopped by New York State Police in Steuben County for a traffic violation August 10.

Troopers say 41-year-old Marci Clem is charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, driving while ability impaired by drugs and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Authorities say they stopped the Tioga County woman while she was driving on State Route 36 in the Town of Hornellsville for vehicle and traffic law violations. "Probable cause" prompted a search of the vehicle and turned up about one pound of meth and a small amount of marijuana.

Clem was sent to the Steuben County Jail.
