Authorities say 25-year-old Caitlin Mcquilkenscholze of Fairport apparently experienced a steering malfunction at around 3 p.m. on Truxton Tully Road and her vehicle crossed into the path of a car driven by 82-year-old Walter Farnholz of Tully, hitting it head-on.

The Fairport woman was seriously hurt and was air-lifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.  Her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Farnholz and a passenger in his vehicle suffered minor injury and were also transported to Upstate Medical Center.

Officials say the road was closed for about one-and-a-half hours due to the crash.
