Two men and a woman were arrested after police found a loaded 9mm handgun and methamphetamine in a car pulled over on Binghamton's West Side.

Officers with the city police Community Response Team tried to stop the vehicle at Seminary and Laurel avenues near Recreation Park Wednesday evening.

The car continued onto Davis and Beethoven streets, where someone jumped from the vehicle and fled into the yards of nearby homes.

Police discovered a "Glock-style" gun, brass knuckles and meth when they searched the car.

Authorities say the driver, 31-year-old Michael Klym Sr. of Binghamton was charged with loitering, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Two town of Union residents who were passengers - 26-year-old Jacqub Sterling and 22-year-old Maria Amato - face the same charges.

Police say they don't know the identity of the person who ran from the car.
