Leave a voicemail... ONLY IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY!!

When's the last time you left a friend a voicemail?  If you can't remember,  it means you're being a polite friend. The New York Times printed an article stating that the new rule of cell phone etiquette in this day and age is to only leave a voicemail if it's an absolute emergency. Otherwise, hang up and send a text message with a summary of what you were going to say.

See leaving a voicemail is a burden on the person you called.  They actually have to stop everything they are doing (especially now that you can't use your phone in the car), dial their voicemail and listen to it.  There's nothing you'd say in a voicemail you can't say in a text. So, why even have voicemail?

It's free? Who knows. I hate it.
