This Saturday Chris and I went golfing at Tall Pines Players Club in Friendsville, P.A. with our friends Tony and Michelle. It was a little chilly when we got there, but the temperatures eventually warmed up enough that we were comfortable.

They sent us off on hole 10 and I wasn't playing all that well. It was only my second time ever playing the course, the first time I played it was back in 2003. I had more bogies and double bogies than pars on the first nine. The highlight of my golf round, besides the awesome pizza we had there before we teed off, came on hole number #7.

It's a Par 3 that's about 123 yards long. The tee box is very elevated with the green way down below and protected by water on the right, and woods on the left. I hit a knockdown shot with my pitching wedge, that flew directly over the flag-stick, hit the green, and spun back to about 7 inches from the cup. It was my only birdie of the day.

The course was in great shape with the greens rolling smooth, fast, and true. When we came to the par 5 number 14, as hit our approach shots into the green, we noticed a bunch of workers from the golf course just off the green to the right in the trees.

When we got to the green we realized they were putting up the Christmas lights for their drive-thru display. Last year Tall Pines held their first-ever drive-through Christmas lights display called The Forest of Lights. We went to that early in December last year and it was very impressive.

This weekend, seeing the people already hard at work putting the lights up on the trees, you realize just how much work goes into putting up this display every year.
