According to Vestal police, the first crash on Route 26 was reported at 3:08 p.m. Tuesday.

A southbound Dodge Durango SUV driven by Seeley hit another southbound vehicle, then struck 2 northbound vehicles and collided with another southbound car. The out-of-control SUV veered off the west side of the roadway and plunged down an embankment.

A man who was driving one of the cars was taken to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

Medics administered a dose of the opioid reversal medication to Seeley.

Route 26 between the Vestal Parkway and Pierce Hill Road was closed for about two hours after the crashes.
