Although we are still in the restrictions of a pandemic, there are more activities and events that are starting to open up this summer, and the Kopernik Center is gearing up for some Kid friendly summer fun.

The Kopernik Observatory and Science Center in Vestal has announced it’s KoperniKids program beginning next month.

The programs offer children aged 3 to 6 some hands-on experience to technology, engineering, and math exploration, with a variety of activities, songs and various fun experiments to encourage children to participate.

There are a limited number of students for each session (12 kids) along with one adult per child, and al participants must wear facemasks when inside

According to a news release from Kopernik, the KoperniKids programs will begin on Saturday June 12th with Life on the pond, which features a discovery of pond life, and its surroundings, activities include a look under the microscope of small creatures that live on the water.

On Saturday July 12th kids can learn about the sun, and its importance to our planet, with “Super Sun”, and on Saturday August 14th KoperniKids explore dinosaurs with “Diggin’ Those Dinos’

There will be fall programs as well.
