Anyone that knows me, knows how much I LOVE homemade chocolate chip cookies. I don't need a reason to have one...or a dozen but I take one if there is one to be had. Saturday, May 15th is National Chocolate Chip Day but what good are chocolate chips if you can't bake them into a cookie?

It's a tie for who makes the best cookies that I've ever had between Cookie Chris and my Mom, Donna. So I think that should be a tie-breaker between them and the only way to settle it is for them to have a cook-off and let me be the judge.

I've had their cookies many, many, times and I can't decide which ones are better, so I've come up with an idea. Instead of baking the chocolate chip cookies in the oven, they should make one in a slow cooker.

Making  A Chocolate Chip Cookie In A Slow Cooker

That's right, a slow cooker. We make everything else in a slow cooker, why not chocolate chip cookies too? It's a way to enjoy that sweet smell all day long. It may take a little longer before you can eat them but some things are worth it.

Delish has come up with an awesome way to do this, so get the following ingredients ready, and let's get ready to cook real slow.

Slow Cooker Chocolate Chip Cookie Ingredients

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened to room temperature1/2 c. sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon. pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon. baking soda
Large pinch of salt
1 1/2 cup. chocolate chips
