Roger Neel – Voice of Binghamton University Men’s Basketball to be Honored This Weekend

I am so proud to work with such an amazing group of people and am excited to tell you that my colleague, Roger Neel, the voice of Binghamton University Men’s Basketball is being honored in his home town this weekend.

Roger Neel has, in his own right, become a sport institution here in Binghamton. Roger’s voice is heard virtually every day on News Radio 1290, WNBF, and has also been heard as a play-by-play announcer for the Binghamton Whalers, the Binghamton Mets, Empire Sports TV Networks, ECAC hockey and most recently, the Binghamton University Men’s Basketball.

Roger’s life began on a farm in Western Pennsylvania where he was an only child who helped his Dad raise chickens for a living. Roger’s family was passionate about their farm.  Roger was passionate about sports. And his passion has turned into an amazing lifelong career started by playing Little League and then both baseball and football in high school.

Roger is one of those guys you just can’t help but love.  He’s kind hearted and funny and has a way of making you feel like you’re really something special.  I’ve known Roger for almost a decade and I’ve never heard a person utter a bad word about him nor him utter a bad word about another person.

This weekend Roger Neel will receive the honor of being inducted into his High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame in Slippery Rock, PA.  I couldn’t be more proud of Roger and all of his accomplishments.  If anyone deserves this recognition, it’s Roger Neel!
