The New York State Gaming Commission just announced its decision to issue a full gaming license for the Lago Resort and Casino in the Rochester area, over Tioga Downs and Traditions Resort.

The plan has given the green light to developer Tom Wilmot and his intensions to build a $425 million casino, close to the New York State Thruway.  The new casino is expected to create thousands of jobs to the area.

The Lago Resort and Casino is expected to generate $260 million a year in revenue, something that Tioga Downs Casino in Nichols and Traditions Resort in Johnson City, were hoping to win.
