Broome County Emergency Services officials are reporting a lot of debris over roads, some partial washouts and a bridge out as a result of heavy rain July 11.

The bridge at Beach Ridge Road in the Town of Colesville was said to be washed out.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution when they head out, especially in areas that have a history of flooding and officials said they expected the list of road damage to change as more people are able to assess the impact of the heavy rain.

As of early July 12, officials reported partial wash-outs and debris in the Town of Colesville on Holcomb Road at Route 79, part of Harvard Road and in the area of 8 Paddleford Road. Route 7 at Bates Road was closed overnight. Biden Manor at Route 79, Porter Hollow near 89 and Route 79 at Babcock Road were also reported to be partially washed out, closed or with debris on the road.

In the Town of Chenango tree debris was reported on Trafford Road, Upper Front Street, Fuller Road, Grant and Aitchison Roads.

Tree and storm wash debris was also a problem in the Town of Dickinson on Jamison Road and at Boland and Sears Road.

The State of Emergency issued for the Town of Dickinson was scheduled to be lifted at daybreak July 12.  States of Emergency were also issued due to flooding in the Town of Chenango and Village of Johnson City.

Tioga and Chenango County Emergency Services officials say they were not aware of any storm-related road problems this morning.
