I will admit I didn't watch the Golden Globes live last night, just the recaps this morning.  But really all that mattered to me was a clip that's already been all over social media and the news.

Ricky Gervais hosted yet again.  With his cutting jokes and cracks at Hollywood, even though he himself is also a celebrity, I do have to say that this year I completely appreciated a nice little thirty second clip he spit out in his opening monologue.

I caught it on the Hollywood Reporter, and you can watch the short video clip of his speech here.  In his opening monologue, Gervais seemed to smack Hollywood about politics.  Honestly, I completely agreed with his sentiments.

In his speech, he stated this:  "So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a political platform to make a political speech. You're in no position to lecture the public about anything, you know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So, if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your God and f*** off. OK?”

He said that right after he highlighted some Hollywood hypocrisy, and even made a joke about how if ISIS opened a streaming service, they would still stream it.

You can watch the entire monologue here:

After my morning ab workout from laughing so hard watching the clip, I closed the article and moved on.  You can see it and read more of Gervais' (ruthless) awards show jokes here.  Yes, he also took jabs at Felicity Huffman and the whole college scandal thing.  Did you catch this? What are your thoughts?
