Downtown Binghamton will soon have another venue for live music and craft beer.

The operators of Red Jug Pub locations in Cortland, Oneonta and Brockport are moving forward with plans to open a site in the Parlor City.

The Binghamton location will be at 17 Main Street, which had been home to Binghamton Optical until it closed just over a year ago.

Red Jug Pub partners Tom Terwilliger and Aaron Gray have been working for several months on the Binghamton project. They acquired the property last March.

Terwilliger said interior demolition work has been underway to remove what remained from the previous business.

Extensive renovation work is planned but existing brick inside the building is to be retained

Terwilliger said the Binghamton Red Jug Pub could open next August, He expects the business will hire at least 50 employees.
