Rebel Against Outdated, Snobbish Rule With ‘White Out Wednesday’
Raise your hand nice and high if you think the whole "rule" of not wearing white after Labor Day is outdated and dumb. Yeah, I'm right there with you.
In case you didn't know, the "rule" was basically made by a bunch of snobby "socialites" who had nothing better to do with their time than to make up a ridiculous rule just so that they could differentiate between people who came from old money and those who were rich because of new money.
Maybe you grew up in a "proper" household like mine where it went without saying that immediately following Labor Day any and all-white clothing you own was tucked away, not to be seen again until Memorial Day the following year. I've always thought that the whole thing was completely ridiculous and even more so now that I've learned why the "no white after Labor Day" rule was made in the first place.
If you want to rebel against the outdated upper crust of society's way of thinking and take a stand to let the world know that you're going wear what you want when you want no matter what your financial status, I invite you to join me for what I'm calling "White Out Wednesday" on Wednesday, September 4th. This is a day to pull out your white clothes and proudly wear them (after Labor Day, gasp!) to let people know that what you stand for is equality, not money or social status.
