Reba McEntire Promises Next Album Will Be ‘Real Country’
Reba McEntire is hard at work in the studio, recording the follow-up album to her 2017 gospel project, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith and Hope. This time around, though, McEntire says the album will be "real country."
"I'm really excited about being back in the studio with Buddy Cannon on the new project," she explains at a recent press event (quote via the Boot). "It's gonna be probably the most country album I've ever recorded."

McEntire already has 13 songs cut, but she'll head back into the studio as she finds additional tracks she likes. "[I'm] loving it!" she adds of the recording process. "It's just real country."
While there is no release date set for the new project, McEntire admits that it's likely because she is still listening to new songs people pitch to her.
"I can't say no," she says, "Because when they say, 'Hey, I've got a song you oughta listen to ...', it doesn't take that long to listen to it, and you never know what you're gonna get -- where it comes from, you never know."
Last month, McEntire teased via Instagram that she was back in the studio, recording some new tracks with three back-to-back photos of pair of headphones, a soundboard and a glimpse of the redheaded country singer at the microphone.
