As many of you know, I like basketball and I love being a basketball official. That's why I'm so honored to be a part of this event on Saturday, May 11th. It's the 7th Annual Police Week Charity Basketball Tournament at Saint Patrick's Church at 9 Leroy Street in Binghamton.

This tournament picks a different charity to contribute to every year and this year, the donations will go to Jackson Vandermark. He's a 4 year old son of a Johnson City Police Officer and was diagnosed with Shone's Syndrome. He's had multiple heart surgeries including a recent heart transplant in New York City.

There are 8 teams participating with members from the NY State Police, Broome & Tioga Counties, Binghamton, Johnson City, Vestal PDs, Binghamton University Police, Norwich PD, Chenango & Delaware counties and a combined Metro team with guys from the NY state courts.

Basketball is only a part of this fantastic event. There'll be entertainment, a clown doing face painting and balloon animals, Rowdy the Rumble Pony, basket raffles and more. This is truly an event for all ages.

There are many ways to help this 4 year old boy. If you would like to donate a raffle basket, contact Brad at Bradkaz1026@aol.com. I'm donating a basket and would love it, if you can too.

There will be a party at St. Patrick's following the games with food and drinks, along with raffles during the event. The games start at 2 p.m. and I'll be reffing the first 3 games and would LOVE to see you as we help Jackson and have a great time too.

This is a great way to show support for local law enforcement officers and our local hero's in a different light. I'll see you there!
