A Pennsylvania man and California woman are charged with federal drug and firearms crimes in an alleged plot to distribute meth in Cortland and elsewhere.

35-year-olds Kyle Leeper and Arlene Rodriguez could face 10-years to life in prison if they are convicted of drug conspiracy and drug possession and five years for carrying a firearm in connection with drug trafficking.

Leeper and Rodriguez are each charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of methamphetamine and using and carrying a firearm in connection with drug trafficking crimes.

Federal prosecutors say in addition, Leeper was prohibited from possessing a firearm and ammunition.  He faces a possible ten years in prison and $250,000 fine.

The pair is being held in federal custody.
