The division replaces the City Office of Economic Development for the rest of Mayor Richard David’s term or until the City has recovered from the pandemic.

Mayor David has hired former Town of Union Planning Director Paul Nelson as a temporary consultant as the city looks at using a combined two-million dollars in federal funds to help non-profits, small business and residents.

The City says the Office of Economic Recovery and Development will start working immediately to identify existing non-profit programs to funds, create new programs and look for residents and businesses eligible to receive funds.

The office can be contacted via email at ecrecovery@cityofbinghamton.com.  Applicants can also leave a message at (607) 772-7161 as the office, like many others, is working remotely.
