Office of Economic Recovery Replaces Binghamton Office of Economic Development

The City of Binghamton has created an Office of Economic Recovery and Development to help residents and businesses impacted by COVID-19.  

The division replaces the City Office of Economic Development for the rest of Mayor Richard David’s term or until the City has recovered from the pandemic.

Mayor David has hired former Town of Union Planning Director Paul Nelson as a temporary consultant as the city looks at using a combined two-million dollars in federal funds to help non-profits, small business and residents.

The City says the Office of Economic Recovery and Development will start working immediately to identify existing non-profit programs to funds, create new programs and look for residents and businesses eligible to receive funds.
