Today was supposed to be Opening Day for Major League Baseball including the Yankees on the road at Baltimore and the Mets at home against the Washington Nationals.

It's all mute for now as everything is postponed because of the COVID-19 crisis. There have been a few proposals on what baseball could do when they finally get everything underway for real.

One suggestion is for a full 162 game season that begins on June 1st or a 144 game season that would start on July 1st. Under these scenarios, the playoffs would run into December including Game Six of the World Series on Christmas Day,

I love what the Binghamton Rumble Ponies are doing to keep us occupied for now. They've been playing virtual games and they've been having a good spring training so far, check it out for yourself here.

On Thursday, April 9th, the Rumble Ponies will start their virtual regular season against the Akron RubberDucks in what was scheduled as their original home opener. The game will be available through a link on their web site so you can get the full experience of having Ponies baseball.

So what can we do for now instead? The Binghamton Rumble Ponies have another really good idea. They would like everyone to post a picture that's related to baseball or softball.

Here's ours and we'd love to see yours?  We can't wait until real baseball returns and don't forget that the Eastern League All-Star game is coming to NYSEG Stadium on July 15th. Get your tickets here.
