The brutal heat on Monday, August 29 broke the August 29 temperature record in Syracuse, according to the National Weather Service and visitors to the Great New York State Fair were certainly feeling it - as it was the hottest August 29th day experienced at the Great New York State Fair in 50 years.
The National Weather Service reported that the temperature in Syracuse at 2:35 p.m. was 94 degrees which edged out the previous high temperature of 93 which was set in 1953.
