A new survey shows that many older adults in New York still think about choices they wish they had made differently. Choice Mutual, a life insurance agency, surveyed 2,000 people age 65 and older and asked them about the regrets that still affect them most. The answers were missed chances, family, health, and money.

Travel Was One of the Top Regrets

One of the biggest regrets was not traveling more when they were younger. Many said work, bills, and family responsibilities got in the way, and they kept putting trips off until later.

Family Time Also Stands Out

Another common regret was not spending enough time with family. Many seniors said busy schedules made it easy to miss important moments with children, parents, and loved ones.

Money Choices Still Weigh on People

Money was also a big source of regret. Many said they wish they had started saving or investing earlier in life. Others said they did not plan carefully enough for retirement and now wish they had prepared sooner. I'm with you there.

Health Became More Important Over Time

Health was another big area. Many seniors said they wish they had paid more attention to exercise, checkups, and overall wellness earlier in life.

Fear Held Some People Back

The survey also found that fear held many people back. Some said they regret not taking risks, chasing their dreams, or speaking up in difficult situations. Others said they stayed too long in relationships that were not right or let important friendships fade over time.

Many Still Believe It Is Not Too Late

Even with those regrets, many seniors still feel hopeful. About two thirds said they believe it is never too late to do something meaningful, whether it is traveling, trying something new, or reconnecting with someone important. It's not too late...until it is so do it today. You can go here to see the life regrets that weigh heaviest on seniors.
