New Yorkers Choose Top Companies for Career Growth
A new survey asked over 3,000 workers across the country what company they would want to work for if the only thing that mattered was learning some new skills and moving up in their career. In New York, two companies rose to the top.
Pfizer Ranked #1
Pfizer, based in New York City, was the most popular choice. People said Pfizer is a great place to grow because employees can learn through training in science and research. Workers also like that their hard work helps others through medical breakthroughs.
IBM Took Second Place
IBM, originally from Endicott and now located in Armonk, came in second. Survey participants said they picked IBM because it offers strong training in technology areas like artificial intelligence and cloud computing. Many also like that IBM lets workers switch roles and try new things.
Learning New Skills Is Essential
The survey showed that most people believe “upskilling” learning new skills is necessary to stay ready for the future. Many workers worry that without training, they could fall behind as technology changes.

Workers Want a Clear Path Forward
When asked what would make them stay at a job longer, Nearly 75 percent said they would stay if the company showed how they could move up. Others said they wanted mentorship programs or the chance to try different roles.
New Yorkers Want More Than Just a Paycheck
New Yorkers don’t just want a job, they want a place where they can grow. Right now, Pfizer and IBM are seen as the best companies helping workers build their future.
