Everyone brags about something at one time or another. Maybe it is about winning a game, doing well at work, an achievement by your kids, or just knowing a lot about something. A new survey looked at how much people brag and what they brag about most.

Here’s what it found about people in New York.

New York Is One of the Top Bragging States

This doesn't really come as a surprise to me but people in New York brag a lot. On average, they spend 2 hours and 42 minutes each month bragging. That’s the second-highest in the whole country, tied with Washington State. Only people in Wyoming brag more although I'm not sure what they are bragging about.

Sports Are the Top Thing New Yorkers Brag About

New Yorkers love to talk about sports. The survey says people in New York brag about their sports knowledge more than anything else. On average, they spend about 53 minutes each week bragging about how much they know about sports.

Well, they certainly aren't bragging about their favorite New York major (baseball, basketball, football, hockey) team winning it all because it's been YEARS since a New York team has won a championship.

Gaming Skills Come in Second

After sports, New Yorkers brag most about gaming. They spend about 48 minutes each week talking about how good they are at video games or other games.

Promotions and Raises Aren’t a Big Brag

Something New Yorkers don’t brag much about is getting a raise or promotion at work. Out of all the topics, this was the least talked about.

Everyone Brags a Little

This study shows that everyone brags now and then. In New York, people are most proud of what they know about sports and how well they play games. Go here to see the most boastful states in the USA.
