
New York’s Favorite M&M’s Flavor Revealed
Who knew there were more than 40 kinds of M&M’s? I sure didn’t. I thought the big choice was between plain and peanut. It turns out there are flavors like caramel cold brew, fudge brownie and even orange vanilla cream. A new study looked at which kind each state searches for the most.
New Yorkers Love Caramel M&M’s
New York’s favorite flavor is Caramel M&M’s. These candies have milk chocolate on the outside and soft caramel in the middle. They first arrived in stores in 2017 and we can't get enough of them.
Caramel Is America’s Favorite Too
Caramel M&M’s were the top choice in 12 states. That made them the most popular flavor in the country. Original M&M’s came in a close second. They were the favorite in 11 states.
Peanut M&M’s Made the Top Three
Peanut M&M’s were the top choice in six states, which put them in third place. Fudge Brownie M&M’s and Dark Chocolate M&M’s were also popular. Each flavor came out on top in four states.
Dozens of Flavors Were Compared
For the Coventry Direct study, they made a list of 45 M&M’s flavors. They looked at Google searches from May 2025 through May 2026. This helped them find which flavor people in each state searched for the most.

The results are based on Google searches, not actual candy sales. Still, they give us a fun look at which M&M’s flavors have people curious.
