Rebecca Weitsman, or "Becky" as her friends and family called her, was only 30-years-old when she lost her battle with colon cancer. Her death shook her family to the core.

Now, Rebecca's memory will live on forever with the new Rebecca Weitsman Dog Park at Hickories Park in Owego.

The Tioga Chamber of Commerce invites the public to join them for a ribbon cutting tomorrow, Friday, September 4th at 11am for the grand opening of the Rebecca Weitsman Memorial Dog Park within Hickories Park.

The park's funding comes from a generous donation by Adam Weitsman, who owns Ben Weitsman and Son and Upstate Shredding. Rebecca was Adam's sister and an avid dog lover.
At the ribbon cutting, there will be raffles, refreshments and information about the park's construction and maintenance.  Following the ribbon cutting, licensed dogs will be allowed into the park.
