According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the number one killer of women, killing more women than every single form of cancer combined. Sadly, most women don’t notice the symptoms of heart disease until it’s too late and this is why heart disease has been dubbed the ‘silent killer.’

The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement invites all women and those who love a woman to celebrate National Wear Red Day, Friday, February 1st by putting on something red. A dress, a shirt, a scarf, anything as long as it's red. It doesn't end there though. The American Heart Association is also asking women to consider living a healthy lifestyle and helping to spread the message that heart disease is killing the women in our lives-our moms, daughters, sisters, and our friends.

Join the movement and help raise awareness of the disease taking so many lives by wearing red on National Wear Red Day and help keep the women in your life informed about how they can make heart-healthy lifestyle choices and reduce their risk for heart disease.

Learn what symptoms you should look out for so that you can share your knowledge with the women in your life and join the Go Red movement here.
