Missing Claverack Drone Found In Sayre Man’s Garbage Can
'I don’t want to discuss it'. That’s what a Northern Tier, Pennsylvania homeowner is telling state police after a drone, surveying utility poles, disappeared from the operator’s monitor and turned up in a trash can behind a home in Litchfield Township.
The drone operator from Claverack Energy lost contact with the $2,000 DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone at 1 p.m. September 8 after hearing multiple gun shots in the area.
Officers from the Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda checked residences in the area of Allerage Way, where the company last had contact with its aerial surveying device and found the drone in the trash can behind a house.
The 55-year-old Gregory Ferro of Sayre admits putting the drone in the garbage can but, according to the State Police news release, “did not want to discuss how it happened.”
Troopers say charges will be filed.
