The Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier’s annual “Men That Cook” event for this year has been cancelled due to the coronavirus.

The event has been replaced with a new event called “Men Who Care”

The “Men Who Cook” competition that pits amateur celebrity chefs against each other to raise money for MHAST, features several well-known names in local government, entertainment, and business, taking up spoons and spatulas, along with professional culinary coaches, while members of the public get to buy tickets for tasting in the annual fund-raiser.

This year, instead of the 18th annual competition, a video featuring 15 of last year’s chefs will offer “Food for Thought” with personal experiences and coping strategies for dealing with stress and issues surrounding isolation and more during the pandemic.

The video is being released September 1 at 7 p-m on MHAST’s Facebook page.  After initial release, it will be available at www.mhast.org.
