Some of you may remember back in 2004 when Andrew Wilson Donahue and another high-profile athlete Brad Conklin (who was driving) were both killed in a car crash. Donahue was a 16-year-old promising three-star sports star at Seton Catholic Central when he was killed.

In 2007, Donahue's family decided to keep his memory alive by establishing a  scholarship fund and a golf tournament to honor him. They wanted to provide scholarships to deserving local high school students in Andrew's name.

Andrew Wilson Donahue Memorial Golf Tournament At Traditions At The Glen

On Saturday, July 16th, the 15th annual Andrew Wilson Donahue Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at Traditions at the Glen, 4301 Watson Blvd in Johnson City. In the past 15 years, they have awarded over $50,000 in scholarships funded by this annual July event.

The Captain and Crew tournament begins with a 1 p.m. shotgun start and your $85 entry gets you green fees, cart, contests prizes, dinner, and beverages. Contact Scott Burghardt at sburghardt1@stny.rr.com to find out more and to participate.

You can also call  Burghardt at (607) 770-7979 or (607) 221-8761 or Pat Donahue at (607) 372-6906 for more information on entering. This is a great opportunity to spend the day at Traditions at the Glen surrounded by great people for a fantastic cause.

If you don’t golf there are still ways to get involved. Dinner-only packages are also available for only $25.

We love Traditions at the Glen and here are some other of our favorite golf courses in the Southern Tier of New York that you need to play before the season goes away.
