It was almost five years ago that 15-year-old Tanner lost his dad, Deputy Sam Brownlee to a shootout while he was on duty.

Fast forward to 2015 when Deputy Brownlee’s 2010 Dodge Cruiser was put on the auction block to raise funds for Concerns of Police Survivors, an organization that helps support families of police officers who were killed in the line of duty.

The car was valued at $12,500 and Tanner placed a bid, hoping to own a piece of his father. But in the end a local rancher named Steve Wells won with a bid of $60,000.

Wells wrote the $60,000 check to the charity and then...he turned around and handed Tanner the keys. That's right- the man bought the car and then gave it to the son of the fallen officer. Can you imagine? Chills!

Grab the tissues and watch how it went down.
