The hot weather with temperatures in the 80s is here for a few more days before it cools off into the mid-60s for the Memorial Day Weekend. One of the things that I love about the warm weather is seeing all of the lemonade stands in the Southern Tier.

I'll always stop at one and if they give me good service (and they always do), I'll give a tip of a buck or two. When my daughter, Tara was younger, she would make some extra cash by selling lemonade at the house. I remember when the firemen would stop by, she got such a thrill out of it.

So when I read this story it brought back such great memories of when Tara was little. On Friday, May 21st, these kids helped to quench the thirst of these men in blue. On a hot day, nothing like some cold great-tasting lemonade to cool the collar.

These Homer Brink students not only satisfied the craving of these fine officers from the Broome County Sheriff's Department but they did something else that reminded me of my daughter.

Lemonade Stand For St. Jude

Tara always sets aside a portion of her earnings to help those who need it and that is what these Maine-Endwell School District children are doing too. While the officers were there, they discovered that funds made at their stand are going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

As a Partner in Hope member for the past four years, I'm so proud of these three youngsters as they are making a difference and helping the kids of St. Jude too.

JOB WELL DONE, keep up the great work and I'll be looking for your stand soon.
