The Luma Festival is the only one of its kind in North America and will return to Binghamton on Friday, September 10, and Saturday, September, 11. Concerns have been raised about the number of attendees and whether or not precautions will be taken to avoid spreading COVID, especially since this is an event that has been known to draw upward of 30,000 people.

Step one of Luma Festival's COVID precaution plan is to control the number of attendees by requiring attendance tickets. These tickets are completely free but required so that organizers can control crowd size. Tickets can be reserved here but it should be noted that reservations are quickly filling.

Additionally, Luma Festival has announced that anyone attending the 2021 Luma Festival who is fully vaccinated will not be required to wear a mask as long as they are able to present proof of being fully vaccinated. Organizers will accept official paper documentation or the Excelsior Pass.

Those who plan to attend the Luma Festival and who are not fully vaccinated or who are unable to show proof of full vaccination to organizers will be required to wear a mask while attending the festival.

Organizers have expressed that the festival will strictly adhere to any and all health restrictions as "determined by the city, county, state and federal government"  and note that regulations may change as the date draws nearer to the festival.
