Was there ever any doubt Luke Combs' newest song "Beer Never Broke My Heart" would hit No. 1? The country hitmaker just notched his sixth straight No. 1 song, hitting the top of both Billboard and Mediabase charts.

Combs' three-month run to No. 1 isn't quite a record, but it puts him alongside some pretty good company in Luke Bryan (several songs, including "Strip It Down") and Sam Hunt ("Body Like a Back Road") as recent artists to go from no airplay to having the No. 1 song on country radio in that period of time.

Speaking to Taste of Country, "Beer Never Broke My Heart" co-writer Jonathan Singleton said he wasn't going to bet on this rocker becoming as big of a hit as it has become, but he's confident Combs would have.

"He's kinda creepy in that," Singleton says. "It might be a lot of wishful thinking on his part, but it pays off a lot. His gut's really good."

Rounding out the Mediabase Top 5 this week is "All to Myself" by Dan + Shay, "The Ones That Didn't Make It Back Home" by Justin Moore, "Rearview Town" by Jason Aldean and "Knockin' Boots" by Luke Bryan.

This is Combs' sixth No. 1 song. In fact, every song he's released to radio has gone on to hit No. 1! The North Carolina native is said to be working on his second studio album now. This One's for You was released in 2017.
