Anyone that knows me, knows that I love to watch and play sports including basketball, softball, and golf. Unfortunately, I never played or got involved with soccer. One of the main reasons was that soccer wasn't offered at my school. Also, we would play kick-the-can at my house instead of kicking around the soccer ball.

My daughter, Tara tried her hand at the sport when she was in elementary school but she decided that she would rather dance than run around the soccer field. Even though I don't play, that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy hearing about a good soccer story.

This isn't good news, it's great news. Her name is Kylie Strom and she joins the Chandler brothers and Isaiah Kacyvenski on the list of athletic stars to come from the Union-Endicott School District. In her senior year, she was named NY State Class AA Player of the Year and her team won two NY West State Cup titles, according to press release by her new team (we'll get to that).

After graduating from UE in 2010, she attended Boston University. As a rookie, her profile on the university website states, she helped to lead the team to the regular season and America East tournament titles. She would end up playing 86 games for the Terriers in four years at the school.

What Is Kylie Strom Doing Now

After a few stints in Europe, including two years with Atletico Madrid (one of the most well-known soccer clubs in the world), Kylie is finally coming home! Well, not "home-home", but back to the United States at least.

She's just been signed by the Orlando Pride, the team announced recently, in the National Women's Soccer League, which is the top tier of women's soccer in the United States.

She is now on the same squad as Marta. If you don't know who Marta is, she's considered by many as the best women's soccer player ever and is the only player (male or female) to score in five different World Cups.

Also on the team are well-known American soccer players, Ali Krieger, Sydney Leroux and Alex Morgan. Morgan is one of the best US women's team players ever. Congrats Kylie, you aren't only a member of the Orlando Pride, you also make the Southern Tier proud!
